Victory Plaza Wins Three Awards and Gains Popularity in the Industry

This year, Guangzhou VT101 Victory Plaza has won three major awards in the industry. On March 19, it scooped the award “Star of Ingenuity and Service” given by the Deputy Director of Business and Financial Affairs Bureau of Tianhe District and the “Popularity Award for 2018” from Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce. On March 31, it won the “Golden Light Award for Excellence in Vision”, which is something equivalent to an Oscar for commercial properties’ interior decoration at “China’s Commercial Real Estate Planning Festival”.

Star of Ingenuity and Service
The “Star of Ingenuity and Service” award is given to an enterprise that provides services to perfection in the core business district of Tianhe Road so as to create a “Tianhe standard” in the industry. A vote on the winner of the award began on 17 January and closed on 26 January, with more than 600,000 participants, including voters. Victory Plaza stood out from its competitors and won the “Star of Ingenuity and Service” award, which represented the government’s and citizens’ recognition for its outstanding performance.
Popularity Award for 2018
In 2018, Victory Plaza not only recruited such high quality tenants as McDonald’s first flagship “future” restaurant and Xibei Noodles, but also regularly held diverse, colorful activities for consumers. This had resulted in a more than 20% increase in footfall at Victory Plaza, making it a truly popular shopping mall.
Golden Light Award for Excellence in Vision
This year, the competition for Golden Light Awards lasted 93 days from the registration to the end of the selection, and the organizing committee was composed of masters of design from Hong Kong, industry moguls and fine arts professors. The committee judged the competition by eight criteria, namely unity, how compelling the story is, cultural interest, artistry, variety, level of interactivity, security and cost-effectiveness. The 2018 Christmas decoration of Victoria Plaza stood out among the 282 candidates and won the “Golden Light Award for Excellence in Vision”, which is the highest honour for commercial property decoration in China. Victoria Plaza broke the mould regarding the design of a Christmas tree by using holographic rainbow paper to build an eight-meter-high “Holographic Color Christmas Tree”, “Holographic Four-color Room” and “Love Message Wall”, fully showing the theme of the Christmas for 2018—“Holographic and Colorful”. The beautiful decoration and a high level of interactivity attracted numerous consumers to the shopping mall where they came to take pictures.
Fast Fashion • Slow Living • New Magnet for the Young

Footfall at Victoria Plaza has been growing by more than 10% annually since its renovation in 2014 and hit a record high in May 2019. Over the past five years, Victoria Plaza has been positioned as a place for “Fast Fashion • Slow Living • New Magnet for the Young”, and it had experimented with new ways to recruit tenants, to operate and to conduct marketing. For instance, it mainly recruits high-end brands which open their first stores in Guangzhou as its tenants, and as such, it has leased out shop spaces to Uniqlo’s flagship store in southern China, the smallest HEYTEA shop in Guangzhou and the largest McDonald’s restaurant in the city. As a result, Victoria Plaza has become the young people’s favorite, trendy place for gatherings. When conducting marketing campaigns, it appeals to people to join charitable causes, strikes a chord with the target audience or focuses on things of cultural interest. It also seeks to foster a sense of connectedness with consumers and cooperates with the government, chambers of commerce and businesses by pooling resources. All this is aimed at enriching the customer experience. When it comes to the shopping environment and service, Victoria Plaza always puts customers first. It has greatly enhanced customer satisfaction by improving the environment of the public area, its services and its safety management.

 The past five years have witnessed VT101 Victoria Plaza’s achievements in recruiting tenants, marketing and the provision of services. The three awards that the shopping mall has won have testified to the government’s, the industry’s and the public’s recognition of its outstanding performance. Victoria Plaza will continue to improve and adapt itself and put consumers first so as to gain in popularity and increase its influence in the industry.
